Director Yun Xiang casts 37 stars for the Rotterdam Film Festival, and a half-naked man gives away muscle mass before the screening

The 53rd Rotterdam International Film Festival opened the day before yesterday (1/25). Hong Kong director Scud was invited to take part in the “Focus: SCUD” section, which specially screened 10 works of his 17-year film career. He invited all the collaborators at once He passed 37 fellow actors and broke the film festival record. Before the screening of “Naked Nations – Tribe Hong Kong” last night, he led the actors on stage and echoed the concept of “Naked Tribe”. The “Filmmaker Focus” section will screen Scud’s films from 2008, including “City Without Baseball”, “Permanent Residence”, “Amphetamine”, “Love actually…sucks!”, “Voyage”, “Utopians”, “Adonis, aka Thirty Years of Adonis”, to new works such as “Plato vs Pasolini”, “Ghosts just want to have fun” and “Naked Nations – Tribe Hong Kong”, the festival chairman Vanja Kaludjercic especially praised Scud’s unique images and artistic creations at the opening the night before, and hoped that he would retire The manifesto was just a joke.

Because he had promised the actors to appear on the international stage, Scud paid for the air tickets and accommodation out of his own pocket this time, and brought 37 actors including Bai Zixuan, Adonis He, Susan Shaw, Amanda Lee, Byron Pang to the Rotterdam Film Festival. He said emotionally: “It can make actors glorious. It is my greatest joy, and it would be even better if it can inspire other artists. I would say to everyone: Look at me! Just do it if you think of it, believe in yourself and do it to the end; then, even if no one is watching, God is watching.”
Scud said: “I received the official notice in August and have been living in a dream since then. I have always thought, without this retrospective exhibition, would my death be less obscure? Looking back on my journey, it was completely a journey from the beginning. Nobody, at least in the international film industry, has reached this point in more than 10 years. I started very late, but at the age of 56, I am still relatively young to be honored.”

In addition to the 37 actors, Scud also invited Chicago Film Festival founder Michael Kutza, famous photographer Lin Zhijian, Taiwanese film producer Liu Fengqi, and Hong Kong director Qiu Litao, who serves as this year’s judge, to attend the ceremony. The actors and working team totaled 50 people.
