Director Scud was recently invited to participate in the 2024 Rotterdam Film Festival’s “Focus Filmmakers” section, where he screened all 10 of his films in 20 sessions and hosted a “Talk: SCUD” discussion. Nearly every session has been close to sold out so far, with enthusiastic responses both in terms of the high-profile treatment at the conference and the lively interactions between audiences during Q&A sessions and outside the halls, leaving him feeling warm and honored.
In addition to attending the festival himself, Scud also unprecedentedly gathered 37 actors who had appeared in his works to come together in Rotterdam. Actors who hadn’t seen each other for a long time reunited, and Adonis He celebrated his 35th birthday there, with the entire team celebrating together. Hong Kong star Amanda Lee, who had released albums in Taiwan in the past, expressed her desire to develop in Taiwan! Eric East has settled in Los Angeles, working in finance and translation outside of the limelight. Taiwanese beauties Karen Huang and Lina Tsai made consecutive appearances in sexy dresses, attracting attention not only at the venue for group photos but also prompting the DJ at the nightclub to shout, “Welcome to Taiwan!”

Seeing his own nudity at the time, he said, “Looking at it again from a purely audience perspective, I really like the natural youthfulness of my body at that time, without much fitness.”

Amanda Lee, who was once a popular and bestselling singer with 18 albums released, including the Mandarin album “Singing on the Roof,” happily watched her old friend Director Scud bring all his films onto the international stage, saying, “Filmmaking is a career where you have to solve many difficulties every minute. It’s rare for us to gather like this. We lived together, ate together, sent movie postcards together, and answered questions after the screening together. There was so much togetherness, and the bond is truly different.” Scud’s new works, “Plato vs Pasolini” and “Ghosts just want to have fun” are scheduled to be released in Taiwan in mid-2024.
